Default Catholic position on prophecy?

Hello all. Sorry if this thread has been posted before, or if its in the wrong place.

Anyway, to explain the background of my question: I'm a new-ish sort of Catholic. I was baptised Catholic as a baby, but since my family are non-practising Catholics, I fell away from the Church. Recently, I've found my faith again, and I'm just exploring different areas of Catholicism. Today I've been reading bits about prophecy - Catholic prophecy to be precise. It's all very interesting, especially about the End Times, but I'd like to know where the Church stands on different Catholic prophecies. It's just that before I read more, I'd like to know for certain what the Church thinks regarding the prophecies.

Thanks.

As St. Paul says, test all things; hold fast to what is good.

Prophecy is certainly possible, but not everyone claiming to be a prophet actually is one. If an alleged prophecy contradicts Catholic teaching, it is not from God. No further evaluation necessary.

You always want to check with the local diocese, though. If someone does not have the blessing of their local bishop, I would be very wary of what they have to say.

The good news for Catholics, though, is that we have the fullness of revelation in Jesus Christ. No further modern day prophecy is necessary. We all already have been given what we need to get to heaven.
